Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen is involved in various charitable causes around the country. We are proud to be a part of the 15th Annual Cherishing Children Glow Run in Rogers, Arizona, an event that aims to build awareness for the prevention of child abuse. Read more about in today’s blog this important event and how it is helping children in their community.
An evening packed with fun activities supporting a serious cause is what you will find in Rogers, Arizona, on April 17, 2015. Helping to bring awareness to the issue of child abuse, the benefit for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County (CAC) includes a 5K Glow Run and a Burpee Mile as well as live music and other family-friendly activities. Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen is proud to participate in this event by providing sunscreen to protect run participants from the damaging UV rays of the sun.
CAC has a vision of a world with no more child abuse. Working towards that goal means offering a safe, child-friendly place for children’s voices to be heard. Comprehensive services are made available to children and families from dedicated professionals; interviewers, counselors, advocates and nurses. CAC also provides education to the community. According to the National Children's Alliance, "The collaborative child-focused approach of a Children’s Advocacy Center ensures that children are not further victimized by the systems intended to protect them."
The Cherishing Children 5K Glow Run and 1-Mile Fun Walk begins at 5 p.m. with live entertainment and participant packet pickup. Everybody is encouraged to “get their glow on” with face and body paint and neon clothes! Food and snacks are available along with inflatables and activities for all ages. The Burpee Mile begins at 6 p.m., followed by the 400-yard Superhero dash for the youngest participants and a 1-mile Fun Walk. The 5K Glow Run begins at 7:45 p.m.
Blue Lizard Sunscreen is proud to be a part of this event for such an important cause by providing sunscreen samples for all participants.
You can also participate by donating to CAC and “Glow on Your Own.” For more information about this event, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
