Prepare to Scare at the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen® has teamed up with the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest in Charleston, SC to provide filmmakers and participants with samples of sunscreen so the scariest things they’ll see will be on the screen and not on their skin!

This marks the second year for the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest, a three-day showcase featuring the best in independent horror films from all over the world. This year’s festival will be held May 15-17 in Sterett Hall Auditorium in North Charleston, and will feature a total of 43 films, including 11 feature-length films and 32 shorts. Blue Lizard Sunscreen will also have two commercials airing between films that keep with the horror movie theme.

Audiences will face zombies, malevolent spirits, slashers, snakes and vampires, just to name a few. Cannibalism is another theme that gets explored in the world premier feature film by Scream Queen and horror movie legend, Debbie Rochon, in her directorial debut. Model Hunger tells the story of an aging supermodel that lures young models to her house for revenge against an industry that cast her aside. Rochon will also make a personal appearance at the festival and sign autographs.

Another special guest will be Tony Rosen, special effects make-up artist and the designer of the creepy Annabelle doll for the movies The Conjuring and Annabelle. Rosen also designed the festival’s award trophies that will be given out to winning film entries. Annabelle herself may even make an appearance at the festival.

“We showcase all types of films in every category of horror,” said Tommy Faircloth, filmmaker and festival organizer. “We’ve got everything from zombie movies to slasher films to psychological thrillers. We have filmmakers who’ve submitted entries from all over the world, including one from Japan, as well as films from local S.C. filmmakers in our ‘Homegrown Horror’ category. We also give out awards in several categories and winners of the Best Short Film will have an opportunity for a potential distribution deal with ShortsHD. All short film Official Selections will have the chance for a world-wide broadcast deal with ShortsTV.”

Festival-goers are encouraged to dress in costume and Cosplay, but for those that aren’t decked out in their scariest stage make-up, Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen has them protected.
