Crown Laboratories, Inc. and its United States related, affiliated, or subsidiary companies, (collectively, “Crown,” “we,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy, building solid business relationships, and maintaining your trust.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information Crown may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit any of our websites, including www.crownlaboratories.com, www.bluelizard.net, sulfolosoap.com, however accessed (collectively, the “Site”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, and disclosing that information.

Information Collected From and About You.

The information we collect from you varies, depending on the way you use our Site. It is highly possible you may browse our site without submitting any personal information, but where we require that you provide us with your personal information, we will indicate what information is required in order to provide you with the product or service you have requested.   We collect several types of personal information from and about you when you use our Site, which may include your name, address, email address, telephone number, credit or debit card information when you request a product or service.  We may also request information from you in order to learn more about and improve our products and services.  

We collect personal information such as your name, address, e-mail, phone number, demographic information, and military status when you apply for employment with us through this Site.  In addition, we may collect information relating to your education and employment history when you submit that information as part of an employment application.  Not all requested information is required, however, and we specifically indicate what information is required in order to submit your employment application.

Use of “Cookies” and Other Technologies.

On our website, we utilize “cookies.” What these are is small files, which we send to and store on your computer so that we are able to recognize it as a unique machine on your next visit. These cookies allow us to know you are a prior customer and they allow us to personalize the experience for you, providing useful information, advertisements, and messages that may be of interest to you. It should also be known that outside companies offering their products or services through our website may be using their own cookies. 

Google Analytics

We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site across devices.  We have implemented the Remarketing and AdWords features of Google Analytics.  The Remarketing feature allows us to serve you relevant advertising on third party websites if you have visited our Site, however accessed, but does not personally or directly identify you.  AdWords allows us to manage our advertising and collect information about your visit to our Site.  Visitors can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads using the Ad Settings [link www.google.com/settings]. Third parties may collect information about you across different websites, including our Site.  We do not currently utilize the capability to respond to web browser do not track signals or other mechanisms that provide you with the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of this information.

Crown recognizes and understands your concerns on the subject of safety and security regarding your personal information. We strive to employ reasonable measures to protect your information as well as the overall security of our Site. We also request that any third parties we are affiliated with, whom we may transfer your information to take the same or comparable steps to protect your information and security. With that said, it should be noted that even with such measures, no website is 100% secure.  We cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Site. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site.

Leaving our Site and Outside Links.

Crown Privacy Policy applies only to this Site, however our Site does contain links to third party websites that are beyond our control. Be advised that these sites have the potential to collect personal information about you, and they will operate according to their own privacy practices that may differ from our own Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third party websites, and so, you should consult any such websites’ privacy policies.  Occasionally, we may work with third parties to conduct surveys, administer contests or sweepstakes, and/or perform other services on our behalf where we collect information from you on third websites.  In those instances, we will provide you a link to our Privacy Policy on the relevant website so that you will be notified about our privacy practices with respect to that interaction, but it is possible that those third party websites have their own privacy policies, which contain additional information about the collection and use of your personal information on those websites.  So, you should consult any such websites’ privacy policies.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we provide you the following information and notification of rights in accordance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

 

Data Processor

Crown obtains and processes Personal Data (as that term is defined by the GDPR) of those located in the EEA or Switzerland as a data Processor. We process Personal Data on behalf of our European Union business affiliate, and we process any such Personal Data only pursuant to the instructions of the business affiliate who is a data Controller.  The data Controller determines how Personal Data will be utilized.

 

Crown’s Obligations as Data Processor

Crown implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to process Personal Data to meet the requirements of GDPR and ensure the protection of the rights of Data Subjects.  Crown will not engage another processor in connection with the processing of Personal Data without specific authorization from the Controller and will inform the Controller of any intended changes concerning the addition or replacement of other processors.  Crown’s processing of Personal Data will be governed by a contract that is binding on the processor and sets out the subject-matter and duration of the processing, the nature and purpose of the processing, the type of personal data and categories of data subjects and the obligations and rights of the Controller.  The contract will contained all provisions required by the GDPR.

 

Privacy Shield

 

Crown complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Economic Area and/or Switzerland to the United States as more fully set forth here [link to Privacy Shield Notice].  Crown has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles.  If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern.  To learn more about the Privacy Shield program, and to view our certification, please visit https://www.privacyshield.gov/.

 

Under the Privacy Shield Frameworks, Crown is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives as well as any such data that it provides to its third party service providers and/or agents.  Any personal information received under the Privacy Shield that we transfer to a third party must also comply with our Privacy Shield obligations, and we will be liable under the Privacy Shield for any failure to do so by the third party unless we prove that we are not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.  Crown is subject to the regulatory enforcement powers of the United States Federal Trade Commission.  As such, we may be required to disclose personal information that we handle under the Privacy Shield in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Crown has mechanisms in place designed to help assure compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles.  Crown is committed to resolving complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your Personal Data.
